As I stated in my review of the first volume of this series, Figure 17 really adds nothing novel to the genre of anime. That being said, I described the series as being inextricably spirited.
That analysis stays upright to the third volume of the series. The character development in this demonstrate is worthy. The child-characters may be uber-cute, but they are nonetheless believable. The adults usually act act intelligently - a godsend in and of itself. A third factor that I deem great is the fact that there is virtually no playing off of character stereotypes for cheap laughs. Men and women are depicted as being equals, for example. Production values are high, with lush animation and genuine Japanese bellow acting. You can bellow that a lot of savor went into the making of this point to.
The only downside to the series is that it has something of a “monster of the month” flavor, where the characters routinely battle the resident poor guys. However, that is a minor detraction at best, and does not prevent me from rating this point to as a five-star production.

Figure 17 will not be the best anime that you have ever seen. However, I speculate that it will faulty somewhere in your top ten percent. Very highly recommended.
In the first episode on volume 3, Hikaru and Tsubasa go up against the last remaining Maguar. DD and Oldeena, after doing computer scans of previous battles, perceive that some of the dying Maguar transmitted battle information to each other. So this last creature has learned from the others and has presumably evolved itself in such a plot that our heroes previous attack methods will be useless. Only Figure 17 will be able to extinguish it! Some surprise, huh?

Meanwhile, at school, the girl’s class is working on an new play about twin princesses, aptly named Hikaru and Tsubasa, one of which is kidnapped and brainwashed by an wicked sorceror. This begins to have a destabilizing conclude on Hikaru because it mirrors her real-life state. DD has informed her that they will be leaving after killing the last Maguar and everybody that has had contact with them will have their memories erased.
This third volume was not of quality of the first two. It went from one shameful to the next. The first episode was mainly a monster battle and the second concentrated mainly on rehearsing a school play. The essence of Figure 17 has always been charm and it comes up empty here. The play really seemed contrived and while it had some laughable bits, watching kids rehearse for an hour is not that riveting. Hopefully, it will occupy abet up in volume 4.
